What is a “Live Sports Radio”?
- The Live Sports Radio is a specially designed and patented radio receiver that receives re-broadcasts at certain sporting events with NO DELAY.
- Live Sports Radio (LSR) has been created with one very important objective in mind; that is: “Enriching Fan’s Experience”.
What does the term re-broadcast mean?
- This means that we take the broadcast from the Home Announcers into our special transmitter to be “re-broadcast” to the LSR receivers, hence NO DELAY.
Does the radio only work for one season?
- The radio will work at all the home and away games of your Home Team. Each season a new radio will be available as the FCC-licensed frequencies that are used for the broadcast will change depending upon the team’s schedule.
- The LSR will continue to work as an FM scan radio on an ongoing basis; however, the “event” radio mode will only work for the current season.
Do I need to turn the radio in at the end of the season?
- There is no need to turn your radio in, once you purchase it is yours to enjoy. It will continue to be useful as an FM scan radio.
What announcers will I hear broadcasting from my radio?
- Michigan Sports Network – Frank Beckman and Jim Brandstetter
- Nittany Lions Network – Steve Jones and Jack Ham
- Cowboys Sports Network – John Holcomb, Dave Hunziker and Robert Allen
- Crimson Tide Radio – Eli Gold
- Gator Radio Network – Mick Hubert, Lee McGriff, and Steve Babik
Can I listen to AM radio stations from the radio?
- The radio will only receive FM radio stations.
If I travel to an away game of my Home Team, will I be able to hear the broadcast on my radio?
- Yes, the radio will work at all of the Home and Away games of your Home Team, the E1 pre-set frequency is for the Home games and E2 to E5 are for the Away games.
Where will the radio work?
- By law, the Event Channels (E1 to E5 on which you will listen to your Home Announcers with no delay) are broadcast on low power.
- You should have no problems receiving the signal in your stadium seat, but reception of these channels will diminish as you leave the area; however, the radio will pick up other FM stations wherever they are normally heard.
Does the radio need to be re-charged?
- The radio operates on a 3 Volt CR2450 Lithium Battery; additional batteries can be purchased at the stadium or on our website. The batteries generally last 20-30 hours.
Sound Quality
Is there volume control?
- Yes, there is a dial on the side of the LSR that turns the radio on & off and enables you to adjust the volume.
What happens when the stadium gets really loud - will I be able to hear the broadcast?
- The sound quality of the LSR is exceptional – the speaker sits right outside of the ear canal, which generally makes it easy to hear, even inside of loud stadiums.
Is the radio hearing aid compatible?
- The radio is not hearing aid compatible however the radio will fit over your hearing aid or you can remove the hearing aid as the volume on the radio is significant.
Purchasing a Live Sports Radio
Where can I purchase a “Live Sports Radio” at the game?
- The Live Sports Radio sellers will be stationed around the Home Team stadiums (and also at a few away games, but don’t rely on this!).
- The sellers are very distinctive as they wear black & white referee shirts and big black backpacks with a banner above them. Additionally there may be some tents set up selling the radios.
How do I order online?
Is your website secure?
- Yes. Our online store uses 128-bit encryption, otherwise known as the standard in website security. This allows information to be passed through your website in a code that cannot be read, even if intercepted.
Are you going to charge my credit card again next year?
- No, Live Sports Radio will not charge your credit card next season – this is a purchase of radios, not a subscription. If you wish to purchase a radio for next season you will be able to purchase from our online store or at the stadium. Your credit card details are removed from the computer system immediately after we confirm the transaction.
Will I receive an order confirmation?
- Yes, you will receive an order confirmation directly to the email you entered during the check-out process.

- A subscription is not necessary, you only need to purchase the radio and you are on your way to hear the broadcast. There are no further charges for the entire season.
